Streetscape Partners Breaks Ground on Symphony Park at Strathmore, a New Community of World-Class Brownstones Adjoining Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda
September 16, 2010 - North Bethesda, MD - Streetscape Partners, a Washington, DC metro real estate investment and development firm comprised of veteran members of the region's real estate industry, has now broken ground on what promises to be the most significant new home community in Montgomery County, and arguably in the entire National Capital region. Symphony Park at Strathmore, in North Bethesda, will feature internationally inspired brownstones, set in a lushly landscaped community of ornate gardens and shady groves of mature trees. Its design will be more refined and detailed than anything else on the market and uniquely integrated with Strathmore Music Center next door.
Demolition of the vacant office building and grading of the site are underway. Streetscape Partners anticipates that sales, by The Mayhood Company, will begin at Symphony Park later this fall, with the first brownstones ready for delivery by late spring 2011. The homes are being built by Michael Harris Homes, a long-standing local luxury homebuilder and part of the Streetscape partnership.
Symphony Park is Washington's first Integrated Arts Community, due to its physical and social connections with Strathmore Music Center. Physically the new neighborhood will be connected to Strathmore and the Metro by a dedicated footpath. More importantly, ownership at Symphony Park carries with it a three-year membership in the Symphony Park Circle, a newly created collection of valuable and exclusive Strathmore benefits especially created for homeowners.
The brownstones of Symphony Park will take their architectural cues from the most elite neighborhoods of Manhattan and London. This portfolio of homes will feel far more like single-family homes with traditional exteriors and interiors with world-class finishes and features clearly created for contemporary life. The design of the community lives up to its artistically minded location and philosophy. Its grounds will include a grassy amphitheater for live performances, grassy mews lined by European style brick walkways, ornate gardens and decorative fountains. Many mature trees on the existing site will be preserved, and the landscaping plan calls for the addition of a host of new ornamental and shade trees to create a formal yet relaxing oasis.
